Pocklington Rugby Forward takes another big step
The Pocklington Rugby Forward project to redevelop the club's changing rooms got the green light from the membership at Tuesday's EGM.
The meeting was called to debate and vote on two motions relating to the project, and both received resounding support. The motion to change the club membership rules so that we will have 'open' membership, and therefore fall into line with RFU requirements for both Seal of Approval and Community Amateur Sports Club status was approved unanamously. The second motion to empower the executive to agree an interest free loan from the RFU as part of the funding package for the development was also passed, with 92% of those voting in favour. As a result of the above, club officials now hope to finalise their negotiations with the RFU in the next few weeks with a view to the development being undertaken this summer. On several occasions through the evening praise and thanks were expressed to the marvellous fundraising efforts that have already contributed to Pocklington Rugby Forward, along with a respectful reminder that further support and fundraising will be needed in the next few years to bring the project to fruition. Engraved bricks are still available for players, current or past members, supporters, families or businesses - see the Pocklington Rugby Forward link on the website for details.
