Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting

To be held on: Tuesday 2 March 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Clubhouse to hear proposals for changes to Club Membership Rules and to accept an interest free secured loan from the Rugby Football Union.

The purpose of the meeting will be to consider changes to our rules of Membership and to consider whether to grant approval for the Club to secure an interest free loan from the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for the rebuilding of the changing facilities and kitchen. The EGM is being convened by the Executive Committee for the purpose of attaining Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status and to progress the rebuilding of the changing facilities and kitchen.

The Agenda items will be:
1) Club Membership Rules
The Executive Committee propose that new open rules of membership are adopted by the Club as recommended by RFU and by CASC, and that the new rules replace the current closed rules of membership whereby new members are approved by existing members. Both CASC and RFU have made adoption of the new rules a condition of our attaining CASC Registration and for our offer of an interest free loan from RFU to support the rebuilding works.
2) Interest Free Loan
The RFU have offered the Club an interest free loan over a period of 15 years to assist with the rebuilding of the changing facilities and kitchen. The loan is to be secured against assets and the Executive Committee propose that the loan is accepted and approved.

All Members are invited and encouraged to attend the EGM and support the proposals.
Yours faithfully
The Executive Committee, Pocklington RUFC
