York Uni 17 - 5 Pocklington
The Panthers
went down to a disappointing defeat at York where all the scoring came after the
break.
Ironically, the best rugby came in the first half with both sides playing
well in defence and attack as play flowed freely. But the Panthers were too relaxed
after the interval and paid the penalty for missing too many tackles as the students
twice got the ball wide to score in the corner.
This jolted the Panthers into
action and some good attacking ended with centre Jack Holbrough breaking through
for a try to put them back in contention. But the students had the final word
and made the game safe with a late converted try.
