Malton & Norton 0 - 3 Pocklington
The
Panthers maintained their unbeaten start to the season, but need some stout tackling
to keep their noses in front in the closing stages.
The Panthers made a great
start as fly half Steve Shepard put them ahead with a penalty after only two minutes.
But that proved to be the only score of the day as defences gained the upper hand.
With
Ben Rees driving them forward from scrum half, the Panthers should have increased
their lead but wasted a couple of first half chances, and they were pulled back
early in the second period when Mike Kemp dashed over on the wing.
The Panthers
then found themselves under the cosh in the final quarter. But they responded
with some big defence with No 8 Kenny Strangeway to the fore, and they kept their
line intact to take a narrow victory.
