Pocklington 60 - 0 Hessle
The Panthers overwhelmed
Hessle as they scored five tries in each half at Percy Road.
They went straight
onto the attack and stayed there. Scrum half Jonjo Sanderson led a series of early
attacks to take play up to the visitors' line and lock Chris Mudd plunged over
for the first score. It continued to be one way traffic and pugnatious centre
Guy Wilson burgled a first half hattrick, all from close range as a result of
good backing up. With Sanderson also galloping over from 25 yards and stand off
Joe Holbrough kicking three conversions, the Panthers were out of sight at 31-0
by the interval.
The young Panthers forwards, with Robert Kinnell a lively
lock, continued to provide the platform for some expansive back play in the second
half and the tries continued to come at regular intervals. There were touchdowns
for strong running back Martin Scott, dangerous centre Jack Holbrough, and industrious
flanker Tim Johnson, before Hessle were finished off by unstoppable bursts to
the line by replacement packmen Jon-Paul Kelly and Phil Drew, Jo Holbrough kicking
another two conversions.
