Hessle 0 - 36 Pocklington
Pocklington Panthers
produced a strong second half showing to pull away to convincing victory at Hessle.
The
Panthers always had the upper hand but failed to make their territorial advantage
pay in the first half and only led 5-0 at the interval. Skipper and stand off
Rich Williman gave his side the perfect lead in his first game of the season when
he powered over for the first score, but his side then had to wait until after
the break to ram home the advantage.
However, the wait was worth it as they
produced a quartet of well-worked tries by fullback Fergus Purtill, centres Martin
Scott and Kenny Strangeway and flanker Phil Drew, with Purtill adding the icing
by kicking all four conversions and putting over a snap drop goal as they coasted
to victory.
