Bridlington 20 - 5 Pocklington
Nothing went
right for the Panthers as they went down to a surprise defeat at Bridlington.
When
the two sides met at Pocklington a few weeks ago the Panthers were overwhelmingly
the better side and won convincingly. But on Saturday they found themselves penalized
out of the game and found themselves unable to raise their play.
Introducing
two debutants in wing Alex Whitton and back row Brook Waudsby, the Panthers began
brightly enough, but things soon started to go downhill. And though scrum half
Jonjo Sanderson grabbed a try in the corner after a spell of forward pressure,
the Panthers found themselves 12-5 down at the interval.
Matters did not improve
in the second half, and though Bridlington were a poorer side than teams that
the Panthers having beating week in week out the home side took advantage of the
massive penalty count in their favour to run out comfortable victors.
