Goole 0 - 5 Pocklington
The Panthers maintained
their good run of results with a hard fought win at Goole, where they got the
only score of the day in difficult conditions.
The boggy pitch and greasy ball
made open play difficult all afternoon. Goole had an early raid that was repulsed
by good Panthers defence and when the Panthers pressured at the other end scrum
half Jonjo Sanderson plunged on a loose ball for the all important score midway
through the first half.
The Panthers had a golden opportunity to kill the game
in the second period, but the best attack of the day ended with them dropping
the ball with the line begging. But the Panthers' midfield defence, with Tom Stokes
and Tim Wilcock rock solid in the centre, ensures that the held their narrow advantage
to the final whistle.
