POCKLINGTON CANAL WALK 10 JULY 2010 (15 Jun 2010)
The vast majority of the walk is along the towpath of or adjacent to the Pocklington Canal. This is somewhat uneven and unsuitable for perambulators and pushchairs, but only falls some 60 feet in 9 miles. There are four public road bridges over the canal: Coats Bridge, on the Bielby to Thornton road; Walbut Bridge, on the Allerthorpe to Melbourne road; Church Bridge, between Melbourne and Thornton; and Hagg Bridge, on the B1228 Sutton-on-Derwent to Howden road.
